FRAMPTON DIAMOND JUBILEE CELEBRATIONS Saturday 9th June 1pm – 6pmin the grounds of Frampton Hall & St.Mary’s Church and on Sunday 10th June in St.Mary’s Church only.Official opening 1.30pm by Lord and Lady DaviesWe are indebted to Lord and Lady Davies for allowing us to use the grounds of Frampton Hall for this event and we are hoping that everyone will support the occasion as all the village organisations taking part will benefit from the proceeds. It should be a fun day for all ages! A programme of events will be given to everyone on entry to the event. There is no charge but donations on the gate would be appreciated.A Public address system will keep everyone informed of what is going on in the different venues. First aid cover and portable toilet facilities will be provided on the day.Kirton Primary school and the Kirton Kids club have been invited to enter a painting competition. The school and the Kids club are supervising the competition and they are to be judged by local artist Graham Timbrell. The winners in each age category will receive gold, silver and bronze medals respectively and a certificate. The winning paintings will be on display in St.Mary’s Church during the weekend and then at the RSPB visitors centre at Frampton Marsh. All the other entries will be on display in the marquee on Saturday. Entertainment in the marquee will be clown shows with Clown Circo and musical entertainment by popular singer Dave Logan who has promised to dress up in 50/60’s gear to suit the occasion. We would also like everyone to get into the spirit of the celebrations if possible by wearing items of red, white and blue clothing.We are delighted to announce that the Hurricane from the Battle of Britain memorial flight will do a low flypast during the afternoon, so bring your flags to wave as they fly over. It is always a thrilling and spectacular sight, even more so when they are doing it for us.Attractions in the hall grounds include – fairground ride and attractions, bouncy castle, zip slide, model boats, classic cars, games, competitions, various stalls run by the village organisations including cakes, tombola, treasure hunt, plants to name but a few. All adult winners of the games and competitions will receive a commemorative plaque and the children a golden commemorative medal.Food on the day will be provided by a first class fast food catering van supplying a vast amount of different food to suit everyone. Also there is candy floss and sweets and Dennetts icecream.The RSPB will have an information stand and will be working with the children making bird feeders.In St.Mary’s Church there is a Timeline exhibition depicting 60 years in Frampton during the Queen’s reign. The photographs and memorabilia will be of great interest to everyone and well worth a visit. Kirton Primary School choir will also be entertaining in the Church. Special celebration afternoon and cream teas will be served in the suitably decorated refreshment area in Church, so you can come and enjoy afternoon tea with us and listen to the singing.As a lot of people will be busy in the hall grounds on Saturday, St.Mary’s church will be open on Sunday 10th in the afternoon from 1pm for anyone who would like to view the Timeline exhibition. Refreshments will also be available during the afternoon.If anyone would like to offer help on the day with car parking, manning a game etc. it would be much appreciated.
